A Few Words About Me

My name is Eugenia Petrenko, and I’m from Kharkiv, Ukraine. I hold a Master’s degree in Museology and the Protection of Historical and Cultural Monuments from the Kharkiv Academy of Culture.For the past 17 years, I’ve been involved in The Memory Book of Ukraine project, dedicated to honoring those who participated in the Second World War. My work has focused on historical research, reviewing archival documents, and locating the graves of fallen soldiers. I’ve co-edited multiple volumes and contributed to eight volumes of The Memory Book of Ukraine, The Kharkiv Region. I was also part of the team behind The National Book of Memory of the 1932–1933 Holodomor Victims in Ukraine.I’ve also served on the editorial board of the Encyclopedia of Historical and Cultural Monuments of Ukraine, which further fueled my passion for preserving history.Around ten years ago, I began exploring genealogy, leading me to join the Association of Professional Genealogists (APG).
